The One Where I Spout 7 Random Things (#8)

1.
In all my clicking this morning I came across this:

Ummm ... thank you How Not To Dress Like A Mom. You made my world a happier place this morning.

(and if you're in a reader and the video did not embed ... please click over here and watch. please please please! it will make your life a better place. i promise.)

And no, I'm not a mom (or even going to be one soon.). I have just started this interest in looking at style blogs, especially ones that aren't necessarily full of "hip and trendy". I live in the middle of MT. Hip and trendy here is a pink pair of Fat Babies and some wranglers. But it's nice to see some options that look cute and doable. And I figure if I start looking at stuff to wear when I'm pregnant now, before it's happened, then I can start out my pregnancy by being cute. Plus I like looking at pictures of preggo people. They're cute.

Does that sound creepy? I really hope not.

2.
Speaking of cute and doable, this morning I put on my flip-flops, even though it was only 37. The sky was blue, the sun shining and the thermometer kept heading closer and closer to 40, so I figured it would be a nice, balmy 60 degree day (ummm yeah ... I grew up in Minnesota and now live in Montana. when I was little the rule was once it hit 50 you could wear shorts and play in the sprinkler).

Anyways, we get out to camp (just 5 1/2 miles but 1000 ft higher) and IT IS FREEZING! Luckily I work inside. That wind is just brutal!

3.
True confession time :: those first two were from last week. As in April 16th. Nice. I don't know how many times I've started this and not finished. In the words of Liz Lemon : blurgh.

4.
I'm in the middle of working on my final exam right now. I have finished 2 questions out of 5 and I am on page 5. Overachieve much?

It's also frustrating me because it takes me sooooo long to answer one question. Mostly because I don't wanna so I click on my Reader, then I click on Facebook, then I check the news headlines. Of course as soon as any new tweet pops up on my Chromed Bird I'm all over that like white on rice.

5.
Speaking of rice, I dreamt about making Pastor Ryan's Mexican Lasagna (via PW). Yes, I dreamt that I decided to make it, out of the blue, with the ingredients I had on hand. I stalled somewhere around the rice. But the rice part of the dream was loooong. It was strange.

6.
I dream a lot of strange dreams. A LOT. I've heard it gets worse when you're pregnant? Oh boy!

7.
My husband picked me these flowers yesterday:

He's the best.

Happy Friday one and all! Hope you have a relaxing weekend planned. We have a bunch of K-5th grade kiddos descending upon camp tonight so Rachel's weekend = busy! Pretty sure I'll be working horses, which means grooming, saddling, leading trail rides, unsaddling and running horses. Life of a secretary!

The One Where I Participate In 10 On Tuesday (#8)

1.  What two cities should be moved closer together?
Ummm .....

2. What was the first plane ride you took?

The shuttle from Fergus Falls, MN to Minneapolis, MN to go to my brother's wedding in Los Angeles. We walked out on the tarmac and there were only 5 seats. I was 10 and very motion sick (and still get that today!).

3. What continent would you most like to visit?

Europe. Something about the castles and the history and the food. It all fascinates me.

4. What’s your favorite place to window-shop?

If by window shop you mean wander the aisles, that would be Target. I love that store, for some dumb reason.

5. What’s the least fun you’ve ever had at a place specifically tailored for fun?

Ummmm ....

6.  You’re stuck on an island with plenty of food, a companion, and a relatively stress-free lifestyle. What do you say when the rescue ship comes?

Depends on whether the island had indoor plumbing and a shower.

7. Which day of the week do you look forward to most?

Sundays because it's relaxing. Hubby is a big proponent of taking a Sabbath and I am quickly catching on to that!

8. What’s your favorite place to enjoy the great outdoors?

Mmm... I'll agree with Chelsea and say the beach because I love water. Watching it is mesmerizing! But really, as long as there is sun, I'm in. Whether its quiet woods with sun spots, a sunny prairie or a sun soaked beach, I'm in!

9. What’s on your “to do” list this summer?

Well, we're moving to Alaska (yup! it's official! May 8th we head out from MT and go to AK via MN and SD!), so I'm guessing lots of exploring and seeing God's creation. I'm also flying to MN in August for one of my best friend's wedding! Hooray! That's pretty much my only "scheduled" activity besides summer school.

10. Which natural disaster freaks you out the most

Earthquakes I think.

Now go visit Chelsea and read some more TOTs!

Oh and I'm officially freaking out because I have a paper and a looooong final due next Tues/Weds but instead of having all week to work on them, I have a trip to Rapid City (3 hours away) to pick up my glasses and contacts on Thursday, a retreat this weekend at camp where I'll be helping with horses, which means no time to sit in the office and do homework, and a major car shopping in Billings, MT (4 hrs away) on Sunday/Monday. I haven't started either because I was lazy last week and sick this week. And now I'm blogging about instead of doing it. Yikes!
